Purpose

a) To ensure that the historical monuments of Iğdır province are researched, protected and archived in all aspects, to produce projects in this context, the results obtained from scientific publishing tools (seminars, courses, workshops, congresses, symposiums, journals, books, brochures, computer environment, radio and tv programs, etc.) to carry out works to transfer to the application,

b) To establish relations with various representatives of public institutions working in this field, municipalities, voluntary organizations, research institutions and other universities, to cooperate,

c) Collecting and preserving archaeological finds, cultural, artistic and scientific documents, cultural assets, collections, manuscripts, historical monuments and museums under the roof of the Center, which must be preserved primarily; to functionalize these assets with contemporary museology studies and to transfer them to the next generations,

d) Collecting and managing the museum, application workshops, restoration workshops, exhibition areas that will be established within the university under the roof of the Center, to ensure its operation, protect, supervise, transform it into living institutions,

e) To carry out education, research and development studies on museology, museum science, museum management and cultural heritage.

Activity area

The center, in accordance with its establishment purpose, in and around Iğdır:

a) To conduct historical works, handicrafts, Turkish folk music, folk dances, written and oral literature, folk culture and raditions, tourism, demographic and anthropological researches,

b) According to the provisions of this Regulation, to make arrangements for museums, collections, archives affiliated to the Center and to ensure that scientific studies are carried out accordingly,

c) To determine the terms of use as the owner of the copyright regarding the publication and copying of various researches in the working areas of the Center,

d) Developing parallel studies with associate, undergraduate and graduate education programs in the fields of museum science, museum management and cultural heritage, updating professional knowledge, disseminating information for all segments of the society in the area needed, and contributing to lifelong learning.
